We’re pretty passionate about tea and coffee drinking (in the shop, we also retail loose teas and beans). Hopefully, this is reflected in our product selection – even our tea strainer is rather stylish! In addition to great cafetieres, mochas and teapots, you’ll also find an interesting selection of cups, mugs and accessories – many of which are not widely available.
We could write a book on this subject, so here’s just a few pointers:
To get a properly hot second cup from a teapot or cafetiere, opt for a double-walled version. They're effective for at least forty-five minutes.
If you want to get the best from a cafetiere, buy an electric grinder. Apart from the improved flavour of freshly-ground coffee and the keeping properties of beans (over four months), you'll be able to use coarse ground coffee instead of the medium ground stuff that's really for filter machines.
Did you know that the Arabica beans normally used for ground coffee or bagged beans contain around half the caffeine of the Robusta type used for instant coffee!
To avoid 'stewed' tea, use a teapot with a built-in infuser basket. Simply remove it once the tea has brewed.
